We just emailed our current clients with all of the information for our Spring Portrait Session Promotions and Beach Portrait Sessions 2010! The event dates are as follows

Spring Portrait Sessions:

We are scheduling sessions for March 13-14 & 27-28 and April 17-18 & 24-25. Sessions must be booked by March 15 to take advantage of the special package pricing. But don't wait, these spots fill up within a few weeks of posting the information.

Beach Portrait Sessions in Port Aransas, TX:

We are scheduling sessions for July 8-11 and August 5-8. We have limited appointments and they book quickly! If you book your session by February 28, you receive a complimentary 11x14!

Haiti: Helping in any way we can!

We are trying to do our part for the people in Haiti. Struck by two earthquakes in one week is unimaginable to me. I can't fathom what they must be going through. Most have lost everything they owned, many loved ones, and have no food or water.

We will be donating 10% of the profits from all January orders to the American Red Cross and Food for the Hungry. Although one person cannot do enough, together we can all make a difference. Ask yourself what can you do to help. Give one, ten, twenty dollars. Whatever you can give will help tremendously. Give to a trustworthy organization like www.americanredcross.org or www.fh.org.

My long time clients and friends drove in from Corpus Christi so that I could photograph their family/maternity session. We had such a great time! Their last session was one of our beach sessions in Port Aransas in 2007. The girls have grown so much and get even more beautiful and well mannered every time I see them. Mommy looks amazing and is waiting for Baby Benjamin any day now. Can't wait to meet the little turkey who is weighing over 8 lbs. already and is still in the womb! Wow! Poor Mama!!! Well he is one blessed little baby. So much love awaits him!

Back to work!!!

I have had a wonderful few weeks to relax with the family during and after the holidays. We've been back to work for a several weeks now and it is hard to concentrate with such an adorable distraction! My little Emma. She is at such a fun stage. She is crawling and having a blast trying to get into trouble every time I turn around. She is trying to stand and take off running. I just can't believe she is almost nine months. Time is going by way too fast and I wish I could just stop it just for a moment. My boys are nine and five and I'm having so much fun with them, too. I can't believe I'll have a tween in my hands in only a couple of years. When I hear him talk about his crushes I feel like I already do! So, I am trying to live life to the fullest and enjoy every minute I can with my munchkins!

I didn't get a chance to post any images of my kiddos at Christmas since I was so busy ensuring all our clients received their orders in time for the holidays! These are a few of my favorites!

A Salvadorean Orphanage Needs Your Help!

Can you believe Christmas is around the corner and I have yet to buy one present? I have been so busy preparing Christmas cards and holiday orders for shipping. But I have no worries. I'm sure I'll get all of my shopping done in two days, as always. As soon as I have some free time, I'll be able to upload some images from our recent sessions. Can't wait!

For now, I'd like to share two things that are very dear and near to my heart! I love children! I would have a fourth if I could! When I see a child hurting, my heart aches! I was recently put in contact with a non profit organization, Stand By Them, www.standbythem.org. Click on the link and read all about them. They help provide funding for an orphanages in Latin America. When I heard about them, God put it in my heart to help in any way I could!

Most of us will celebrate Christmas in our comfortable homes making memories with our children and exchanging gifts with those we love. But so many children all over the world are not as fortunate as ours are, especially those that don't have a mother or father to provide them with love and to meet their basic needs. In the midst of such a busy season, I wanted to share one of our recent sessions with Joseph, who is now two! I can't believe I first photographed him when he was only four weeks. He is such a beautiful spirit and handsome boy! We had a chance to run and play in his backyard and empty field. Any boy's dream, he was able to play in his dad classic!!! Woohoo!

We also had a chance to photograph three of his older siblings! I loved chatting and catching up with them! They all are just beautiful and well-mannered! Just a pleasure to photograph and talk to! Loved hanging out with them!

A Brave Dragon Slayer and a Beautiful Ballerina

I have been having such a great time photographing since I returned back from maternity leave in August. I must admit, it is challenging to manage the business and an infant, but I am managing... Of course, I have been so busy that I've neglected our blog!!! I keep reminding myself to update it with images from recent sessions and of my growing kids, specifically of Emma, but, by the time I realize it, I've taken care of the kids, the house, dinner, client correspondence, editing, order fulfillment, shipping, marketing, even Facebook, but, "Blogging" has taken a back seat. NOT GOOD!

So I thought I'd update with a recent session of the most adorable kids (and their parents, of course)!!! He was a brave dragon slayer searching for dragons in the wild area of "Cibolo Nature Center", ha, ha!!! He was so adorably handsome and sweet. Of course, like most four year olds, he could not and would not sit still for more than a minute and has such an active imagine. But that is why I love my job so much. My favorite task is to run after happy, active kiddos. My second boy is exactly that way, so I felt right at home!

The beautiful ballerina was just precious and happy! Oh, she loves her brother; and mommy and daddy always brought a smile to her face. And of course our famous Mr. Frog did too!!!

This was such a beautiful family! I can't wait to finish editing! Enjoy the images. I did go a little crazy on the number I'm posting, but I just thought these kids were adorable. I do promise I'll post some updated portraits of my own kids soon. Emma has changed so much!

I must admit, juggling running a home, two school age boys, a 4 month old, and a photography business is nothing to sneeze at! I knew it would be time consuming, and I was right. However, I have to say that I am enjoying every minute of it all. I am truly blessed that I not only do what I love for a living, but I am able to set my own schedule! And I am ectstatic when I get to work with bouncing, happy babies! The beach sessions were a total success and I've spent alot of time working on editing them while also spending time photographing sessions here in San Antonio. Of course, I have found some time to photograph my own little ones. Although my oldest isn't little anymore... If all of that weren't enough, we are working on going live with our brand new website! We are still working on some last minute details but hope to have it up for you all within the next few weeks. I am so excited!!!

I've posted a few of my favorite images from the last month. I hope you enjoy! Almost all of our weekends are booked between now and November. My first session back to work was simply more than I could have asked. Baby Lauren is so beautiful and has such a sweet spirit. She cried once! Yes, only once. And after some snuggle time with mommy, she was back to her normal jolly self. She was such fun to photograph. She had grown so much since her newborn session and I cannot wait until her seven month session!

Excited to be back from maternity leave, sharing some images of Emma

I'm so excited to be photographing again after my three month leave! It has been an amazing time getting to know my precious Emma! Today, she turned three months old and she reached a milestone! She rolled over for the first time in her crib! She arrived one month early due to the fact that I was diagnosed with Pre-eclampsia, and we had some issues with her gaining weight quickly enough. The first month was tough, but we made it through! She is now adorably chunky and thriving! We couldn't be happier.
Above, I am sharing some of my favorite images that I've captured in the last three months. In the first set of images, Emma was 2-4 weeks old. In the images in which she is wearing a hot pink top, she was two months old. In the last images, she was almost three months. Her brothers love her to death, and we've all just fallen in love with her! I also thought I'd share some images of her room! Funny, after having two boys, I never thought I'd ever be painting any room all pink! We are so thankful and blessed!

An Angel Joins Our Family and Blesses Us All!!!

I've been wanting to share this story for quite some time but I had been busy having a baby... No the angel I mention above is not my baby girl, Emma, although she is a precious angel, as well.

My sister Martha and her husband Josh have been married for four years. At the beginning of 2008 they decided to start trying for a baby. We were all very excited. They were trying for their first baby and we (my husband and I) were trying for our last. Martha had an eptopic pregnancy in March and I had a miscarriage in April. It was an extremely sad time for our family but we all knew God had a much bigger plan that we could not comprehend. My sister and I have always been very close. Well, I truly feel this brought us even closer together! As many of you all know, my husband and I did have another baby after my miscarriage. Martha and Josh decided to start trying again at the beginning of this year, 2009. However, those plans came to a screeching halt when they learned that Josh's three month old nephew had been abandoned in Florida and was about to be handed over to Child Protective Services. Martha and Josh prayed about it and knew they had rescue this baby boy and give him a home. They knew that he could not get lost in the system and grow up in foster care.

I had nine months to prepare for each of my three beautiful children and still I have felt lost and uncertain at times. I admire them greatly because they had only a few weeks to prepare. Within days of making the choice of becoming his parents, they flew to Florida to meet him and everything was set into motion. He flew home to San Antonio a few weeks after that. They are now his parents and he does not know any different. I love watching how he stares at my sister with such LOVE and ADMIRATION. He adores his daddy! Yes, God had designed a much better plan than the one Martha and Josh had designed. There was a baby out there that would need them! And you know what? They needed him just as much. They just didn't know it. He has stolen all of our hearts with his sweet face and adorable smile!

I'm so excited to be on maternity leave until August 14th! I am enjoying our baby girl so much, especially knowing she will be our last. During this time, you can still call or email us with any questions regarding your orders or to schedule fall portrait sessions. Our new office assistant in charge of customer relations, Maria Esther Aguilar, will handle your requests! She will handle client communication, order fulfillment, payments, appointment scheduling, etc. She has been working with us for several months, and I am so excited to have her on board.

Our Latest Blessing!

As many of you know, we've been anxiously awaiting the arrival of our baby girl, Emma Carolina. Due to some complications, she did arrive four weeks early on May 6th at 7:33 a.m., weighing in at 6 pounds, 3 ounces and measuring 19 1/2 inches in length. All was well with both of us, thank God, and she is as beautiful and healthy as she could be! We cannot ask for anything more. My youngest son, Danny, already asked for another baby sister, but the answer was "no". Both big brothers are so excited to have her home with us. They anxiously waited for her for so many months! Thank you to all who have emailed and called wishing the best! I am so blessed to have the friends, family, and clients I have!

Becky and Glenn's Wedding

On Feb. 28th, we photographed Becky and Glenn's Wedding in the Rio Grande Valley. Although they live in NYC, they held their wedding in Texas so most of their family and friends could attend. The bride looked stunning and it was amazing to see how loved this couple is and how many people travelled from all over Texas and as far as NYC to accompany them on their special day! And this wedding was such great fun! Even the smallest guests took advantage of the dance floor most of the night! I can't wait to have the slideshow ready! In the meantime, enjoy the images above!

Meet Brayden: Our First "Photos for Angels" Recipient

Meet Brayden! I first met him in October and just fell in love with his gorgeous eyes and smile. He is such a happy baby and has no idea he has club feet, or Giles Smith syndrome, a birth defect that affects 1 in every 1,000 live births. He has undergone several surgeries and different methods of treatment. When I first met him, his little legs were in casts, helping him correct his feet posture. He is now wearing braces, which aren't as heavy on his little legs. His mom amazes me because her husband is a member of the armed forces and has been stationed in Iraq for the majority of Brayden's life. Of course, when I met them and heard their story, I had to explain to her about our "Photos for Angels" program and offered her to be the first recipient. Because she wanted to wait for Brayden's casts to be replaced with braces, the session took place in December. Above are some of my favorite images!

Giving Back: You Can Help-"Project: Photos for Angels"

We are very excited to be starting a brand new program, "Project: Photos for Angels", in which we are offering a large photography package to a deserving child or family. This has been under wraps and planning for several months and we are excited to be unveiling it. You will be able to have a direct impact by helping us identify the families we can select from!

Every quarter, we will donate a photography session and package to a deserving family or child. The eligibility requirements will not be set in stone but are as follows:

-Financial need (however, it is not the only thing we will look at, and if there is no financial need, we may overlook it if there are other more important eligibility requirements met).
-The child or adult or family may recently have gone through or be presently going through a difficult or traumatic situation (e.g., a chronic or long difficult illness, overcome a huge obstacle, , etc.)
-The child or adult or family may be giving back to the community even though this person is going through a difficult situation of his/her own
-An armed forces member who's actions have made him/her stand out in some way.
-These are all possible scenarios but the possibilities are endless!

HOW CAN YOU HELP? If you know of a child, adult, or family who meets the eligibility requirements above, please email us with their story and their contact information. Your email should be very convincing giving us details explaining why you think this person should be selected. We will consider every entry, but we reserve the right to make the final decision regarding the recipient of each quarterly recipient.

I am very excited about this opportunity and hope that you join forces with us to help give deserving children, adults, and/or families the gift of capturing memories for a lifetime.

Alex's 12 month session was so cute. We had the opportunity to play outside and I discovered Alex loves rocks! He loves sitting on this porch and playing with all of the rocks that are part of the landscaping. His beautiful sister, Victoria, helped Alex enjoy some cake! I have such a great time when photographing these two children!

Clara and Brantley's Family

I photographed Clara and Brantley's beautiful wedding at Mission San Jose almost three years ago! I loved working with them both. They seem to be the perfect combination of sweetness in Clara and hilarious humor in Brantley. You can imagine how excited I was when Clara contacted me and asked us to photograph her and Brantley along with her sister, parents, and grandma. They were such a great family to work with at the wedding and the session was no different. It was wonderful catching up with them!

While we continue to be extremely busy, as much as I've tried to make time to share some of our favorite sessions from the last few months, our schedule has not allowed it. But this week I have blocked some time for this. Many clients have said they miss those updates on our blog, and I am very flattered!!! I love spending time updating our blog with new images and will definitely make sure we do it as often as before.

I'd like to share some of our favorite sessions from the end of 2008 and beginning of 2009! I truly love each of our clients and their families and love seeing them every year or two when we photograph them for their holiday portraits and Christmas cards. One great example is Cathy and Bruce. I always have such a great time with them because Cathy is just a sweetheart. Anyone who knows her will vouch for that. Bruce is hilarious! He is a comic and has me laughing the entire session. I started photographing them and their son four years ago and just cannot believe how big he has gotten! Time truly does fly! As promised here are some additional images from our recent sessions! I remember being a little girl, having dreams, loving to dance! Life was so simple as a child! That's why I had such a great time photographing these adorable sisters and their entire family! Mom dressed them up in tutus, and oh my goodness, they looked dreamy! They felt so precious, like ballerinas, ready to be photographed! Their boots were the perfect touch!

Meet Noelle (above and below), the adorable face of Street Beatz Dance Company!

Meet Kee and Rita (above)! Owners of the brand new Hip Hop dance studio, Street Beatz Dance Co. Kee has been a dance instructor for many years and is ready to venture into entrepeneurship along with her business partner, Rita! They both met when she became, Rita's daugther, Noelle's dance instructor. They fell in love with her dance and teaching abilities and charisma! Rita, being a savy professional who loves dance and people, was able to see a great opportunity in this new friendship! The rest is history!

Street Beatz is currently registering for dance classes. My son is registered already and can't wait to start! There will be six dance instructors, including Kee (above).

I spent an evening with them this week getting to know them and photographing them in action! Wow! These guys are so talented! I was extremely impressed and excited to be able to work with them!

Adorable Children

I know I promised additional images, and here they are!!! I'll be posting more soon! I have so much I want to share but such little time! Children are such a joy to photograph! I love their zest for life and genuine hearts! Oh, and let's not forget their honesty! I love it when I tell a child, "Would you like to give your sister a kiss?" and they just say, "No". Ha, ha! A bitter-sweet morning

I cried as I walked out the door of his new school. My baby started pre-k this morning, and he was so excited! He walked right on in to his class, and my husband helped him hang up his back pack and put his lunch box in his cubby. Then he found his desk and didn't even say good-bye. I had to follow him to his table and ask him for a kiss! But I am so proud of my outgoing, independent, little man!

My heart is in mourning!

Sorry for such a long absence. I think this is the longest that I've gone without blogging, but we've been so busy! I've been eagerly awaiting a few free moments this coming week to share some images from the great sessions we've photographed the last month and a half. But right now, I can't bring myself to do that! I received some devastating news this weekend! However, I run a photography business and although I normally do not work on a holiday, I had an entire holiday weekend full of sessions scheduled (Saturday, Sunday and Monday). I had to be professional, put on a smile, and photograph my clients. Now, I thank God for that because it kept my mind occupied.

I am very sad for a very good friend of mine and her family! I truly wish I could have been with her this weekend. She and I have been friends for almost 20 years! They were eagerly awaiting the fourth addition to their family! At 26 weeks of pregnancy, my friend had to have an emergency cesarian. The baby was coming early and there was no stopping him. Although he weighed in at 1 pound, 10 ounces, there was a slim chance of hope. But within 24 hrs, they were told that the baby's lungs and brain were full of blood and the best thing to do would be to take him off life support. If not, the baby would suffer too much. While it was a very difficult decision to make, my friend and her husband knew it was the right one, and they followed the doctors' suggestions. If you ask me, it was a selfless choice! All of this happenned between Friday morning and Saturday evening. I'm not exagerating when I say that I am still crying for my friend and her family! I wish that I could take her pain away. I really do! I don't think I've ever posted anything sad regarding my life or my loved ones' lives. But for some reason, I felt that this needed to be acknowledged. Life, death, and suffering are such taboo subjects. We never want to talk about sad topics or bring others down. I certainly don't! Why would God allow this? Why? An innocent baby wasn't allowed to live! That is our normal reaction to a situation like this. But when you really stop to think about it, for those of us that have that faith and certainty of where we are going when we move on from this short time on earth, we know that precious sweet baby is happily resting in Jesus' arms. He is happy, content, safe, and has no worries whatsoever! His family is in pain. Those of us that were eagerly awaiting his arrival are in pain. He is better off than we are, that's for sure. We are in pain because we had the need to hold that beautiful baby in our arms and nurture and love him!

You know, when we trust Jesus with our lives, we aren't promised a life full of blessings and no suffering. But we are promised He will walk by our side through every situation life throws our way, and when the pain is too hard to bare, he will lift us up and carry us through. He will give us wings like eagles so we can soar again! He has definitely done that for me. I know the Lord will carry my friend and her family through this! I know he has carried me through similar situations that have been devastating to my family. But we are stronger and more united because of them. This also reminds me of how blessed I am to have the family and loved ones I have in my life. Even though my friend is going through such great pain, she is blessed to have an amazing family and support system standing behind her. Life is so short, and can be taken from us at any moment! Please take a minute to tell your loved one, sister, brother, mother, child, friend, how much you love them. Don't put it off. Don't say "ditto" when they tell you the same thing. Say, "I love you!". Say it to your kids until they are tired of hearing it! Say it until it is as common as saying, "Hi". Don't put it off, or you may never get the chance to say it! Don't ever let them wonder if you really loved them. My dad died when I was 19. Although at the end of his life, he came to know Jesus, he missed out on a huge blessing and enjoyment. He never knew what it was like to say "I love you!" to any of his three kids. And when I told him "I love you, " can you guess his response? You got it! "Ditto!" Now, as a parent, I shower my boys with kisses, hugs, and "I love you's" every moment I can. And I feel sorry for him that he never knew how wonderful that feels. Take a minute, an hour, a day, to enjoy life and those around you! Live each day like it is your last, living life to the fullest! Live your life making a difference! Make your life count!

I promise tomorrow I will post some great, fun, images and talk about less "heavy" topics. But today, this was in my heart, and I knew I had to share it. Many blessings!

A Day at the Beach

We had such a great time during our June Beach Sessions in Port Aransas. We have more sessions scheduled in July, and we are very excited and looking forward to them. One of our sessions from June was the Kulis Family. We've been photographing them for two years, and I simply adore these children. They are so sweet and precious! They are fun-loving kids that love to run and play instead of sitting and posing for portraits. Just my kind of kids! Ha, ha! We recently photographed Geri and Phil's wedding. I loved working with them both. They had a beautiful ceremony and reception at the historic St. Anthony Hotel. It was wonderful to see how many friends and family came in from out of town for this sweet event. Both Geri and Phil live in California but have family in San Antonio. Baby Joseph's 6 Month Session

I can't believe precious baby Joseph is growing so fast. I first photographed him when he was only 4 weeks old. We've been photographing him every 2-3 months since then and I have to say he has changed and grown in so many ways. He is such a playful baby boy! This session was filled with so many great moments, it was really difficult to choose some of my favorites for the blog. Oscar and Elisa's 50th Anniversary

We recently photographed Oscar and Elisa's 50th anniversary party and Elisa's 70th birthday celebration. Oscar and Elisa's children surprised them with a great dinner party at Tomatillo's. Over one hundred family members and friends were there to celebrate them. Their children and grandchildren took turns toasting the couple and their words were so touching. It was amazing to see how this quiet couple had impacted their children's and grandchildren's lives in such a wonderful way! I shed quite a few tears in hearing their stories and words of appreciation for mom and dad/grandma and grandpa. One granddaughter even said how awesome it was to have a cool grandma that bought her jeans at Gap, just like her. How cool is that? Congratulations Oscar and Elisa! Janira and Gabriel's Wedding in Corpus Christi, TX

We photographed Janira and Gabriel's engagement session in Corpus Christi in June and we had such a wonderful time. We couldn't wait to travel to CC again for the wedding because Janira and Gabriel are so in love and willing to follow along with all of our crazy ideas!!! We were not disappointed. Aside from the fact that their families were wonderful and welcoming, they had a fun wedding party, and we got great images! What more can a photographer as for??? Here are some of our favorite images. More to come later. On a side note, Janira was a referral from a wonderful person, and longtime client and friend. I often photograph her two beautiful daughters. Of course they were at the wedding and the youngest of her girls, Julianna, thought I am her full time photographer. She continually followed me around for a portrait opportunity and brought her friends along for a quick picture as well! I often caught her taking pictures of me as well! Good times!

Senior Portraits in Gruene, TX

Yesterday we photographed a gorgeous Judson HS Senior named Kimberly in Gruene, TX. We had such a fun time. She took her best friend, Tawny and the two were constantly laughing! Kimberly was such a blast! She was up for anything and everything I had in mind! Aside from being a fun beauty, she has brains and compassion for others too! She plans to study nursing when she graduates! I'm sure any patient of hers will be laughing constantly! The slideshow is coming soon. That's when you'll get to meet Tawny, as well! We've been so busy photographing sessions and editing, but I just had to stop and show off these beautiful babes! Meet Sieanna and Xavier! They are only 2 months old and they are very alert! We photographed their mom (along with dad and older brother, Diego) when she was 8 months pregnant with them! We couldn't wait to meet these two adorable twinkies and have some fun with the camera! Here are some of our favorite shots from the session. Poor mommy is getting very little sleep, but the joy is worth it! And big brother Diego is such a great help, and he loves the twins so much! Tristan's One Year Old Session

I have photographed many children with their older siblings. It is interesting to see how they interact together. I love to see Dylan and how much he loves his little brother. He is so sweet and patient with him!

He actually turned 1 in February, but we've rescheduled several times due to the rain and both his mom and I had our hearts set on using this location in Boerne! Well the wait was worth it. We have been so busy editing all of our recent weddings and portrait sessions, meeting with clients, etc. But I had to stop and share this slideshow with all of you. The Alarcon Family was the last beach portrait session we photographed in June. It was so much fun! We photographed the girls two years ago and they have changed so much. They now live in Corpus and I was so excited to be able to see them again and have some fun time on the beach with them. These girls are so fun loving and do not sit still for the camera. Sarah and Vince had a beautiful ceremony today, 7-07-07 (a very popular date as most of you must know), at Randolph AFB, Chapel 1, in San Antonio. A fun and elegant reception followed at the Officers Club. Sarah and Vince were so happy to have become Mr. and Mrs. and the love their family and friends have for them was so obvious! The cake was divine and the bridal party was so much fun! And I must say, Sarah and Vince were a dream to work with! The flower girl and ring bearer were precious!
